First Photo Endeavor.

After finally learning how to properly use a digital SLR camera, I set out on my first photographic endeavor. Needless to say it was rough, I felt more focused on my shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings than the subject I was photographing. Nearly all photos were properly exposed and in focus, but they all lacked composition, and were boring. Eventually I scrapped all photos from that day and waited for an opportune time to go shooting again. It ended up being February 16, 2011 an irregularly cloudy/ windy day for Las Vegas. I had a solid four hours to kill until my photo class at 2:00pm. I went to my favorite place to go when I need to kill time, Red Rock Canyon. A storm was just about to come into town and the line between thick cloud cover, and sunlight was really defined. The entire scene was a seemingly rare spectacle, at least from my point of view.

I shot this with my Canon T1i at a 1/400 shutter speed, F7.1 aperture, and 100 ISO. This is where the line of cloud cover was really defined.

I shot this with my Canon EOS T1i at an 1/250 shutter speed, F9 aperture, and the ISO was at 100. The contrast of the clouds made the whole scene really cool and a raw scene of nature.
